Northern Alberta in November is its own kind of cold. We headed across the border to chase Canadian whitetails in big-bodied country where the bucks grow heavy and the rut is the great equalizer. What started as Ty’s tag turned into a 24-hour double that nobody saw coming.
Day One: Ty’s Buck
Ty drew first blood on a beautiful Alberta whitetail buck — the kind of mature, dark-horned deer that makes the trip north worth every degree below zero. One shot, clean kill, classic Canadian whitetail.
Day Two: Tim’s First Whitetail
The next day, Tim swapped the camera for the rifle and connected on his first whitetail ever. There’s something special about a first deer at any age — and getting it on camera in Alberta during the rut made it that much sweeter.
