Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how MOA Rifles collects, uses, and handles information about visitors to our website and customers who place orders with us. We are not in the business of selling your data, and this document is written plainly so you understand what we actually do.
1. Information We Collect
When you place an order: We collect your name, billing and shipping address, phone number, email address, and payment information. Payment card data is processed by our payment provider and is not stored on our servers.
When you contact us: We retain the content of emails and messages you send us in order to respond and keep records of customer communications.
When you browse our site: Our hosting platform (Shopify) automatically collects standard server log data, including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. We also use cookies to maintain session state (cart contents, preferences). See Section 5.
Age and eligibility: For firearm purchases, we may collect and retain documentation confirming eligibility as required by federal and state law.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To process and fulfill your order, including communicating about lead times, shipping, and status updates.
- To comply with ATF recordkeeping requirements and other applicable federal and Oregon state law.
- To respond to questions or service inquiries.
- To send order confirmations and, if you opt in, promotional communications. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
- To improve our website and customer experience based on aggregate usage data.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Service providers: Shopify (ecommerce platform), payment processors, and shipping carriers receive the information necessary to fulfill their role. These parties are contractually required to protect your data.
- Legal compliance: We disclose information when required by law, including to comply with ATF regulations, respond to lawful requests from law enforcement, or enforce our terms.
- Business transfer: If MOA Rifles is sold or merged, customer information may transfer to the acquiring entity, subject to the same privacy commitments.
4. Firearms Records
As a federally licensed firearms dealer, MOA Rifles is required by law to maintain bound book records (ATF Form 4473 records, acquisition and disposition logs) for a minimum of 20 years. These records are maintained separately from general customer data and are subject to federal recordkeeping regulations rather than this privacy policy.
5. Cookies
Our site uses cookies to keep your shopping cart intact across visits, remember your preferences, and analyze traffic through Shopify's built-in analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though doing so may affect your ability to use the cart and checkout. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
6. Data Retention
Order records are retained for a minimum of seven years to satisfy tax and business recordkeeping requirements. ATF-mandated records are retained as required by federal regulation. You may request deletion of marketing data at any time; legally required records cannot be deleted on request.
7. Security
Our site uses TLS encryption for all transactions. Payment processing is handled by PCI-compliant third-party processors. No transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical measures to protect your information.
8. Your Rights
Oregon residents have the right under the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act (OCPA) to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of data not subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt out of any sale or sharing of personal data (we do not sell data).
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@MOARifles.com. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.
9. Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our practices change or as required by law. The effective date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the site after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
