Defiance Machine Classic Action
The Classic action is machined from pre-hardened aircraft-certified 416 stainless steel receiver stock, with full-length lug ways cut via wire EDM for consistently smooth bolt travel and precise bolt-to-receiver engagement. The bolt is machined from pre-hardened aircraft-certified 4340 chrome moly steel with recessed bolt lugs for a slick, positive cycling feel, a Mini-16 extractor for reliable extraction under all conditions, and a plunger ejector for consistent case ejection. Receiver barrel threads are 1.0625" x 16 TPI — the Remington 700 thread diameter and pitch — giving you the broadest possible compatibility with aftermarket stocks, chassis, triggers, and bottom metal. Primary extraction geometry is engineered to significantly increase initial case extraction force for smooth, effortless cycling even with hot magnum loads. The action features guaranteed headspace. For 7mm PRC, the action is configured in long action (Remington LA) length with a .550" magnum bolt face to properly accommodate the 7mm PRC's 3.340" maximum cartridge overall length and magnum case head. Complete action weight is approximately 23.2 oz in long-action configuration. Available in right or left hand, and in your choice of natural stainless or black nitride finish.
Shaw 7mm PRC Barrel — 416R Stainless, HBar Contour
Shaw Barrels has been producing precision rifle barrels in their Pennsylvania facility since 1950. Their 7mm PRC offerings are cut to SAAMI specifications from 416R stainless steel rod stock and finished with a bead blast matte surface that resists corrosion and eliminates glare in the field. The HBar contour delivers the rigidity needed for consistent accuracy during extended shooting sessions — stiff enough to resist heat-induced point-of-impact shift without making the barreled action unnecessarily heavy in a pack or chassis build. Shaw cuts the 7mm PRC with a 1-8" twist rate, which stabilizes the high-BC heavy-for-caliber 7mm projectiles the cartridge was specifically engineered to launch — including the 175-grain and 180-grain class ELD-X, ELD-M, and hybrid bullets that make the 7mm PRC exceptional at extreme distance. The muzzle is threaded 5/8-24 for standard muzzle devices, brakes, and suppressors.
